At the invitation of Cllr Stephen Reynolds, Mayor of Telford and Wrekin, I visited him for a very interesting tour of Telford. We were driven along the banks of the Severn towards the Ironbridge to view the work that has been done to shore up the banks and that is currently being done to renovate the Bedlam Furnaces. At the Ironbridge, we inpected the scaffolding that has been erected prior to work on stabilising the bridge itself. We then visited the town halls of both Dawley and Oakengates to hear about the effort being made by both councils to reduce isolation in their local communities.
